Leading Turkish publishing house, Pegasus, based in Istanbul, has recently acquired the Turksih rights to Jabbour Douaihy’s novel ‘Ayn Warda’.

Norwegian publishing house Minuskel recently acquired the rights to Khaled Khalifa’s In praise of hatred.

Jabbour Douaihy’s novel, June Rain, the French and Italian rights of which have already been acquired, has recently been sold to Hanser, in Germany.

Italian rights to Syrian author Samar Yazbek’s ‘Cinnamon‘ have been sold to Castelvecchi. The book should be available by Spring 2011.
Castelvecchi is a Roman publisher.

World English rights to Khaled Khalifa’s In praise of hatred have been sold to Transworld, a company part of Random House Group Ltd. since 1999.
In praise of hatred was on the shortlist of the first edition of the Arab Man Booker prize awarded in 2008 in Abu Dhabi.

Sindbad, Actes Sud, France, who has published in January 2009 Jabbour Douaihy’s ‘Ayn Ward’, under the title ‘Rose Fountain Motel’, has acquired the French rights to ‘June Rain’.
