In the context of Beirut World Book Capital 2009, the Lebanese Ministry of Culture had published a call for cultural projects to be submitted for financial and structural support. The deadline was for September 30th, and sources at the Ministry expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the projects submitted.

The Ministry’s ambition was to take advantage of this international event to promote long term projects that would truly have an impact on the Lebanese cultural scene and more specifically on the book industry.
